Honor true patriots

Joe Scarry

Every month, BORDC honors an individual who has done outstanding work in support of civil liberties and the rule of law in his or her community.

This month, the Patriot Award goes to Joe Scarry, a grassroots activist and organizer from Chicago, Illinois.  He describes himself as "IT consultant by day, culture consumer by night, anti-war activist all the time." Scarry is very involved with national efforts to combat domestic surveillance drones and the more local Chicago movement to free the NATO 5.
